Crews on the Montana Creek Fire begin breakdown and back haul of unused supplies.

The fire is 93% contained.

TALKEETNA, Alaska- Containment increases to 93% on the Montana Creek Fire, which is located 16 miles south of Talkeetna. The continued varying weather will help ensure that the heat is extinguished, and any deep burning duff is consumed. Crews remain engaged and coordinate efforts to backhaul all equipment from the field. Remaining crews will maintain operational readiness to provide Initial Attack and support for new incidents.

The Payson Hotshot crew is one of 3 fire crews remaining on the Montana Creek Fire.
