The Wildland Fire and Aviation Program provides safe, cost-effective and efficient fire protection services and related fire and aviation management activities to protect human life and values on State, private and municipal lands. The wildland fire program cooperates with other wildland fire agencies on a statewide, interagency basis.

State of Alaska wildland firefighters receive incentive pay increase
On National Wildland Firefighters Day the State of Alaska, Department of Natural Resources, Division of Forestry & Fire Protection (AK DOF) announced that State of Alaska wildland firefighters will receive a 30% mission critical incentive pay and the eligibility to receive 25% hazard pay when required to work under dangerous wildfire conditions.
