Flagstaff Hotshots improved the fireline on the north side of the Moldy Fire (#279) and worked to slow fire movement threatening allotments and values to the north and east. Helitack helped to secure the northern edge and identified hose and other equipment for backhaul. The Midnight Sun Hotshot Crew made good progress protecting allotments on the south and east edges.

Extreme fire behavior on both the north and south ends of the fire resulted in an increase of about 10,000 acres yesterday. The Moldy Fire (#279) remains the only active fire within the Roundabout Complex, now totaling 58,102 acres and growing further overnight. Driven by strong northwest winds, the fire pushed southeast throughout the day yesterday, with some additional backing fire to the north.
The Roundabout Complex has grown to 49,457 acres, with all 1,600 acres of new growth occurring on the Moldy Fire (#279). Additional growth on the Moldy Fire overnight is suspected. The drying and warming trend continues, with no measurable rainfall over the fire area for the past 16 days. Precipitation is forecasted for next week.
The Roundabout Complex is now 47,819 acres, with all 2,300 acres of growth yesterday occurring on the Moldy Fire. The expansion was concentrated on the southeast corner near Roundabout Mountain. Dry conditions persist with no rainfall received and no precipitation expected until after the weekend.
Fire activity across the Roundabout Complex remains concentrated on the Moldy Fire (#279), which has grown to 46,527 acres. All other fires in the complex continued to hold steady yesterday, with no additional growth. Crews observed around 2,500 acres of expansion on the Moldy, a quieter day compared to earlier this week. The forecast remains dry, with no rain received yesterday and no immediate precipitation expected.
