Heavy precipitation aided the quick response to the Saint Patrick Creek Fire

The Saint Patrick Creek Fire is 0.2 acres and was burning in Black Spruce and Birch that was started by a down powerline the evening of Wednesday, June 7th. Fairbanks resources mobilized and worked to knock down the active fire very quickly. Heavy precipitation helped to moderate the fire activity while the crews were able to secure the perimeter.

The fire was officially called contained shortly after midnight and deemed controlled around 1:00 am. The burned area will be monitored and patrolled over the next couple days to make sure that there is no more heat in the effected area.

This will be the final update on the St. Patrick Creek fire unless there is any further activity.
