Overnight, crews continued to construct suppression lines and reinforce existing dozer lines along the fire perimeter on the Louise Creek Coal Seam Fire with aviation support. Today, crews will continue to construct fire lines along the left and right flanks while mopping up portions of the fire area that have cooled down enough that will allow firefighters to gain safe access. The Louise Creek Coal Seam fire has burned 215 acres and is 0% contained.

Crews also continue to make good progress on fully containing the 250 acre Ridgetop Fire which is now 70% contained. Crews will continue to work throughout the burning period today mopping up and patrolling the fire area with aerial support. Over the next 24 hours, crews will begin to be released from this incident and be available for other initial attack fires in the region. The weather forecast call for an increase in temperatures and the possibility of lightning in the region over the weekend.
The Parks Highway remains unaffected by the fires. However, firefighters and firefighting equipment will continue to be visible between mile marker 253 and 255 on the Parks Highway. Helicopters will continue to support the firefighters on the ground as needed and will be visible to the public near the fire area.
The Temporary Flight Restriction is still active over the fire area. To view the current TFR in the area please visit https://tfr.faa.gov/tfr2/list.html
