Overnight, fire crews were safely able to contain 90% of the 246 acre Ridgetop Fire and will continue to work throughout the day mopping up and patrolling the fire line to reach the goal of full containment. Supported by engines and extensive hose lays, structure protection remains in place for home affected by the fire. Crews will continue to be released back to their home units for other initial attack fires as this incident nears full containment.
Today, crews assigned to the 270 acre Lousise Creek Coal Seam Fire will continue to work towards full containment with the support of aviation, preexisting dozer line and extensive hose lays around the perimeter of the fire. Crews will also continue to mop and patrol portions of the fire that will allow firefighters to safely do so.

The weather forecast for the fire area calls for cooler than normal daytime temperatures, an increase in wetting rains and higher humidities over the next 24 hours.
The Parks Highway continues to be open to the public. The public is reminded to slow down and drive with caution in the fire area as firefighters and firefighting equipment will continue to be visible between mile marker 253 and 255 on the Parks Highway.
