The Ridgetop Fire (#117) reaches 100% containment, crews continue to contain the Louise Creek Coal Seam Fire (#122)

Aided by cooler temperatures and wetting rains, firefighters were successfully able to safely contain 100% of the fire perimeter on the Ridgetop Fire, 5 miles north of Healy. There will continue to be a limited firefighter presence in the fire area as crews continue to patrol the fire perimeter and begin removing fire equipment and apparatus from the fire to be sent back to the local fire warehouses to be refurbished for other initial attack fires.

The 59 personnel assigned to the Louise Creek Coal Seam Fire will continue to take advantage of the decrease in fire activity to construct fireline, mop up hot spots and reinforce existing dozer lines from historical fires within the fire area. Crews will also continue to utilize aviation assets to assist with mop up where needed.

The Parks Highway continues to be open to the public and all Temporary Flight Restrictions over the fire area have been cancelled. The public is reminded to proceed with caution near the fires as firefighters, firefighting equipment and aviation will continue to be visible between mile marker 253 and 255 on the Parks Highway and working within the fire perimeter, 5 miles north of Healy.

This will be the last daily update for the Ridgetop and Louise Creek Coal Seam Fires unless fire behavior increases, or significant activity occurs.
