Piledriver Slough Fire (#151) fully contained and receiving heavy precipitation

The Piledriver Slough Fire (#151) is fully contained as of this morning. The 1.2 acre fire received a quick response yesterday by local Salcha Fire and Rescue and the Division of Forestry and Fire protection personnel. Aerial resources supported ground crews yesterday and throughout the night to keep the fire footprint small. Heavy precipitation was received over the fire area last night and this morning, aiding in the containment. Fairbanks 1 fire crew will work throughout the day to set up sprinklers around surrounding structures as a protective measure. The crew will also continue with securing the perimeter of the fire to prevent any potential of escapement outside of the perimeter. Full mop up of this fire is difficult due to the materials that were burning being considered hazardous.
