Smoke
Portions of the Outlook area received wetting rains yesterday and most fires saw favorable relative humidity recoveries last night. Smoke production should be slightly moderated today as chances for scattered showers continue throughout the Outlook area. Smoke continues to settle in the Tanana River Valley overnight and will generally track north throughout the day. Smoke from Canadian fires will move into the Upper Yukon by late this morning. Periods of Unhealthy air quality are likely in the AM for Fairbanks and North Pole, with slightly better conditions expected midafternoon. Delta Junction will likely see Unhealthy conditions throughout most of the day, with slight improvement in the afternoon. Nenana can expect Moderate to Unhealthy air quality in the AM with some clearing in the afternoon. Healy and areas south, including visitors to Denali, should enjoy Moderate to Good air quality for most of the day after smoke lifts this AM.
