Incident management team makes good progress on the Montana Creek Fire (#312), Gannett Glacier Fire Crew will assume command on Wednesday.

TALKEETNA, Alaska- Located 16 miles south of Talkeetna, the Montana Creek Fire (#312) is now 97% contained. As fire managers meet objectives and scale down the fire operations based on work completed, the Type 3 Incident Command Team from Wyoming will transfer command of the fire on Wednesday. The Alaska Division of Forestry and Fire Protection’s Gannett Glacier Fire Crew will take over command, focusing on final containment by ensuring the perimeter of the fire is secure.
