
Key Message: Evacuations on the Saint George Fire are lifted. The Bear Creek Fire has also had all evacuation orders, and its Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) removed.
Bear Creek Fire: Firefighters continue to use heavy equipment for suppression repair to minimize long-term disturbance from earlier suppression activities. Crews continue to patrol the area for any remaining hazards. An Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) was used to scan the fire perimeter to identify any remaining pockets of heat within the fire perimeter and found no concerns.
Saint George Creek Fire: Backhauling equipment will be the primary focus. Crews used for this operation will also perform ongoing reconnaissance. The public may still observe intermittent smoke from unburned vegetation in the fire’s interior.

As of July 23, the Bear Creek Fire is 30,988 acres and 37% contained. The Saint George Creek Fire is 42,214 acres. Forty personnel are on the incident.
WEATHER AND FIRE BEHAVIOR
Tomorrow’s forecast calls for cool, cloudy skies with intermittent showers. These conditions will continue to dampen fire activity. Alaska remains in its fire season and the public may see intermittent smoke in the burn areas until a season-ending rain event occurs.

Evacuations for the Saint George Fire are lifted. The Bear Creek Fire evacuation status and TFR have also been removed. Forestry personnel will continue to monitor the fire for community safety.
