Wyoming Type 3 IMT to transfer command of the Goldrun Complex

The Wyoming Type 3 Incident Management Team 1 will turn over command of the Goldrun Complex to a local Type 4 organization at 7a.m., Friday, July 25, 2025

The Wyoming Team 1 is grateful to the community of Ambler for all the support it has received while assisting in the management of the complex’s nine fires in the Kobuk Valley between Ambler and Kiana. Local resources are in place to continue to support the communities moving forward.

On the Nuna Fire (#420), the BLM Type 2 contract Mooseheart Crew, with firefighters assembled from Tanana, Minto and Fairbanks, continue back hauling equipment and supplies that were utilized to provide protection to Alaska Native allotments, structures, and other values at risk. Firefighters have started rehabilitating camp sites used by crews and support personnel. This process includes burying the fire pit, filling in tundra coolers, ensuring all trash is removed and attempting to make the site appear as natural as possible.

The Onion Fire (#433) is now considered to be 80% contained. The BLM Type 2 contract K-River 1 Crew with firefighters from Allakaket, Hughes and Huslia, are working to complete the mop up process. They are targeting remaining hot spots and deeper-burning fuels to strengthen containment and prevent flare-ups. Back hauling has begun on the fire.

The Kaliguricheark Fire (#410), which burned through the Kobuk Fire (#411), the Hunt Fire (#409), and Tutuksuk Fire (#424) are in monitor status. The Jade (#407), Karet (#408), and Salmon (#423) fires are contained and controlled. They are being monitored.
