Tok Area:
7 Mile Lookout Fire (#222)
4,094 acres I Containment: 55% I Total Personnel: 52
Update: Warm, dry weather and gusty winds on Saturday increased fire activity. Tanana Chiefs (T2IA) and North Star (T2) crews, supported by helicopters with buckets and two water scooping aircraft, worked to slow spread in a steep, unburned white spruce drainage on the east side. A drone flight on Friday used infrared to map hot spots where crews knocked down heat on the north and southeast sides, but hot spots in the drainage persisted and flared in Saturday’s winds, prompting the aircraft response. Firefighters will continue mopping up and checking for heat through early next week, with similar warm and breezy weather expected. Hazard trees and ash pits remain a serious danger. Please stay out of the area.

Tok area is also under a burn permit suspension, Sunday August 10th due to hot, dry and windy conditions. This suspension will remain in place until conditions change. Find more information about the Burn Permit program and suspensions at https://dnr.alaska.gov/burn

Fairbanks Area:
Himalaya Road Fire (#223):
6,057 acres I 60% Containment I Personnel: 38
Aggie Creek Fire (#268):
34,837 acres I 5% Containment I Personnel: 2
Update: Rehabilitation and repair efforts are ongoing in the Aggie Creek Fire area. An excavator is currently working on the southeast side, specifically along an ATV trail to restore the dozer line put in place from the suppression efforts. Simultaneously, a second excavator is tasked working its way north from the Pete Simpson Forestry Road for approximately two miles until it ties into a two-track trail.
On the Himalaya Road Fire the excavators completed the repair on the three-mile-long section between Cogan Drive and Middle Fork Road.
There is still fire traffic on the Elliott Highway by Olnes Pond and Near Haystack Drive. Heavy equipment continues to work around the fire area. This includes trucks, heavy equipment on trailers and ATVs. Please drive carefully and mind your speed for public and firefighter safety.
No evacuations and no TFR in place for the Himalaya and Aggie Creek Fires.

Nenana Ridge Complex
Bonanza Creek Fire (#238):
12,576- acres I 22% containment
Goldstream Creek Fire (#270):
20,471 acres I 47% containment
Total Personnel: 49
Update: The Alaska Division of Forestry & Fire Protection Fairbanks 1 Crew continues to dig out hot spots along Toghotthele Road so that they will be exposed to the forecast rains. Digging out the areas of heat along the perimeter to catch rain will utilize the natural elements to extinguish them. If these areas were not exposed, they would continue to smolder in the deeper layers of duff where the rain would have little to no effect. Excavators continue to work in Little Goldstream community, breaking down the dozer berms and rehabbing fire lines. Bonanza Creek Road continues to be worked on to find heat sources around the perimeter as well. Graders and compactors are working together on forest roads across the complex.
It is important that the public knows that the forest roads in the Nenana Ridge Complex have restricted access. Only fire personnel will be allowed access to these areas due to ongoing fire activities. The following roads and any connecting roads fall under this road restriction: Nenana Ridge Road, Bonanza Creek Road, Maisch Logging Road, and the Skinny Dick’s logging roads. Members of the public are asked to stay out of the fire areas due to ongoing safety concerns. Public accessing the fire area is slowing work along narrow roads and along fire lines where heavy equipment is working. For the safety of firefighters and yourself, please stay out of the area
No evacuations of TFR’s in place for Nenana Ridge Complex.

Uncle Sam Creek Fire (#376)
873 acres I 100% containment I Personnel: 0
Monte Cristo Creek Fire (#319)
8,773 acres I 0% Containment I Personnel: 24
Update:
The White Mountain Crew made significant progress on the Uncle Sam Creek Fire, which was called 100% contained on the evening of Thursday, August 7th. The crew gridded the area, working 50 feet in from the fire’s perimeter to ensure all heat is extinguished.
The Monte Cristo Creek Fire is now being staffed with a White Mountain split into modules to continue the great work that they were able to complete on the nearby Uncle Sam Creek Fire.
In addition, an unmanned aircraft system (UAS) successfully completed an infrared mission to see if there were any lingering heat sources around the fire’s perimeter.
The fire showed some areas of smoke, which is the target for the crew to find and work those pockets of heat as weather permits.
Due to helicopters being utilized for crew shuttles and sling loads, as well as infrared drone operations, there is a Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) that remains in effect over the Monte Cristo Creek Fire area. There are no active evacuations.
