Tok, Alaska
This is the final update for the 7 Mile Lookout Fire this Alaska fire season, unless there is significant activity. The fire has been placed in monitor status. Anyone with specific questions can call the Tok Fire Information line at (907) 505-0362.

A controlled burn took place at the west Tok Woody Debris Disposal Site yesterday, September 11, and a second burn will take place in the east public disposal site today, September 12. Smoke will be visible in the area.
Disposal sites provide residents with a safe place to dispose of woody debris, grass clippings, and leaves. This reduces the risk of escaped debris burns, lowers overall wildfire fuel loads, and helps protect homes by keeping them Firewise. Please note that inorganic materials such as treated wood, plastic, and garbage are not accepted. Find your nearest disposal site using our interactive map: https://bit.ly/4cf7wRw

Engines continue daily patrols, while the Division of Forestry & Fire Protection’s Mat-Su Crew and the National Park Service’s Alaska Range Suppression Module wrap up their work along the perimeter of the 7 Mile Lookout Fire.
As of September 1st, burn permits are no longer required; however, safe burning statutes & regulations remain in effect and enforceable year-round. More information may be found here: https://forestry.alaska.gov/Assets/pdfs/burn/2019/statutes%20&%20regs%20combined%20for%20burn%20webpages.pdf
For Tok Area residents, if you are safely burning brush, please call Northern Forestry Dispatch Center at 907-451-2623 with your address so they know to expect smoke in the area. Carefully consider weather conditions before proceeding with your burn.
