The Tlozhavun Fire (#448), located 10 miles south of Fort Yukon, remains at 21 acres, is now 70% contained, and crews have completed 50-foot mop up operations while advancing toward a 100-foot mop up depth under continued full suppression.

“Ready” evacuation level lifted for Central area
The current Type 3 incident management team assigned to the Ptarmigan Complex is transitioning at Type 4 organization with the transfer of command set to take place Sunday at 7 a.m. Firefighters and aviation resources will continue their work on the fires.
Firefighters make progress securing allotments on the Roundabout Complex
Flagstaff Hotshots improved the fireline on the north side of the Moldy Fire (#279) and worked to slow fire movement threatening allotments and values to the north and east. Helitack helped to secure the northern edge and identified hose and other equipment for backhaul. The Midnight Sun Hotshot Crew made good progress protecting allotments on the south and east edges.
Work continues to progress on Lush and Elephant Fires
The Lush Fire (#199), is located on the north side of the Yukon River across from Rampart and remains at 26,544 acres. There was no precipitation on the fire yesterday, so it was another drying day for fuels.
Minimal fire activity on the Ninetyeight Fire
The Ninetyeight Fire (#218) exhibited minimal fire activity yesterday. Crews finished the sprinkler system along the south and southwest perimeter and continued mopping up through the heaviest area of downed debris and timber. Completion remains at 54% and acreage at 15,691.
Smoke increases on Aggie Creek and Himalaya Road Fires as crews target hot spots with air support
Based on yesterday’s warmer temperatures, lower humidity, and the expectation of the same for today, increased smoke was seen, creating a moderate expectation of torching trees or a singular torching tree within the Himalaya Road Fire (#223), Aggie Creek Fire (#268) and Obrien Fire (#172).

Minimal fire activity observed across the Ptarmigan Complex, incident management team prepares for transition
The current Type 3 Incident Management Team (IMT) will be transitioning down to a Type 4 IMT on July 20. Daily fire updates on the Ptarmigan Complex will end on July 20.
Firefighters continue to prepare and protect allotments on the north and south fronts of the Roundabout Complex’s Moldy Fire
The Moldy Fire (#279) remains the only active fire within the Roundabout Complex, now totaling 73,085 acres. Rain fell overnight and continues this morning. Firefighters have continued success with point protection measures, such as with Huslia’s microwave communications tower. No changes to evacuation levels and no firefighter injuries or accidents were reported.
