Oklahoma Range prescribed burn update

The prescribed burn on the Donnelly Training Area Oklahome Range was ignited on May 10. The fire is approximately 56k acres and is burning in grass and tundra. Ignitions on the range have ceased and burn objectives have been met. It remains characterized as a prescribed burn. Smoke has been reported in Fairbanks and surrounding communities.

A one acre fire has developed and is smoldering along the 100 Mile Creek. Surveillance flights are flown over the area and helicopters provide bucket support along the 100 Mile Creek area. The fire is in monitor status.

Slightly cooler temperatures and higher humidity are expected through the weekend.
