Open burning suspended for the Kenai Peninsula

Due to current and forecasted weather conditions, open burning is suspended on the Kenai Peninsula. This burn suspension includes the use of burn barrels. The area is currently under High Fire Danger. High winds and low relative humidities are forecasted increasing the potential for fire activity. Landowners are reminded to re-check any fires that they may have recently started to ensure complete extinguishment. This burn suspension will be in place as of 12:00 pm May 13, 2014.
