Jim Lake Fire

A call to Palmer 911 reported another fire near Jim Lake late Sunday afternoon, May 18. An ATV had caught fire and was spreading into the wildands. Forestry engines, the Gannett Glacier Initial Attack Crew and two helicopters responded to the 1 acre fire. The fire was contained and considered controlled Monday morning, May 19.
The area is in a Red Flag Warning due to very strong winds until 10 p.m. Monday.
