Wildland fire near Yukon River crossing closes several BLM facilities

FAIRBANKS — The Bureau of Land Management’s Yukon Crossing Visitor Contact Station (mile post 56) and 60 Mile Campground are closed until further notice due to the nearby Dalton River Crossing Fire.

Information on Dalton Highway conditions and closures may be obtained from the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities by dialing 5-1-1 (toll-free within Alaska or 866-282-7577 out-of-state) or visiting the 511 website at 511.alaska.gov.

At this time, all other BLM facilities along the Dalton Highway, including the Arctic Interagency Visitor Center in Coldfoot, are scheduled to open on Friday, May 23.
