The Dalton River Crossing Fire has grown to 500 acres and is holding steady. The growth was observed on the east side with some backing to the north. The fire, located north of the Yukon river and east of the Dalton Highway, is wind and fuel driven and burning near several allotments. There are 63 personnel on the fire: smokejumpers and Type 2 Emergency Firefighter (EFF) crews Allakaket #1 and Minto #1 are at the scene along with additional overhead personnel and helicopter support. Firefighters are providing point protection and are going direct along the western flank of the fire. No additional resources have been requested. The fire is 10 percent contained
