La Grande and Blair Fire updates, July 1

Cooler temperatures and wetting rains have assisted with the firefighting efforts on the Military Zone fires near Delta Junction. The Type 3 Incident Management Team that has been managing the fires will be transitioning the fires to a Type 4 organization today, 7/1.
Blair Fire:
Minimal fire behavior has been reported. The fire is expected to continue to creep to the east, but under current conditions no large increase in acres is expected. Unaweet Wildfire Use Module will remain on the fire and continue prep work on cabins along the river.
LaGrande Fire:
Hose lay has been completed and structure protection is in place. In addition, protection of high value timber in the area has been completed. Although the Flaming Gorge Wildfire Use Module will demob today, protection equipment will remain in place. If the fire behavior increases due to weather changes, such as high temperatures, low relative humities and/or high winds, the fire will be staffed again. The fire will be monitored daily by incident personnel.
