Fire activity is increasing on the northwest corner of the Fish Creek Fire. The fire perimeter has grown by 200 to 300 acres today and is within one mile of structures along the Parks Highway.
Additional crews and equipment have been ordered. Access into the active fire area is difficult due to the swampy terrain.
Heavy smoke is slowing traffic in the vicinity of Parks Highway mileposts 291 to 294. Drivers should use caution when traveling through that area due to poor visibility. Watch for fire crews and equipment.
Six homes within four miles of the fire have been issued voluntary pre-evacuation notices.
