Exclusive Aerial Footage of Helicopter Bucket Drops on the McHugh Fire

Watch Live exclusive footage from Saturday, July 23rd 2016 as the 412 Bell medium lift helicopter strategically drops water on the McHugh Fire located on the steep terrain south of Anchorage, Alaska. Pilot Jim Acer narrates the piece and describes the challenges and technical specifications of his helicopter as he supports the elite Hot Shot firefighting crews who are responsible for moppingĀ and increasing containment. The cause of the fire which threatened the Potter Valley and Rainbow Valley subdivisions remains under investigation.

As of July 24th, 2016 the McHigh Fire #541 was 778 acres in size, 30% contained with 310 fire personnel assigned.
