Smoke report for 7-2-19

Special Statement – Heavy smoke impacts in the upper Kenai valley, Seward, and
along the Sterling Highway near the Swan Lake fire today.

CENTRAL/EASTERN INTERIOR: Light winds from the southsouthwest
will continue to transport smoke to the northnortheast.
The amount of smoke generated and impacts
should start to climb today.

SOUTHCENTRAL: Northwest winds dominate. Smoke could flow
over the Alaskan Range and down the Susitna valley from the
Foraker fire. The Kenai will be impacted again as the wind
swings back to the northwest and the downwind valleys fill
with smoke – especially near Cooper Landing,
