–All Evacuation Notices Lifted–
Crews continue to make steady progress along the southern fire line near the Martin neighborhood. Containment has been steadily increasing due to mop up around the fire perimeter coupled with higher humidity and rain. The Northern Rockies Team 6 managing the fire has recommended that the Fairbanks North Star Borough remove all evacuation levels.
The Fairbanks North Star Borough has lifted the Level 1 evacuations notice from McCloud, Martin and Perfect Perch neighborhoods. There are no evacuations notices in place for the Shovel Creek Fire area at this time.
While the evacuation levels have been lowered in the neighborhoods, the risk to both firefighter and public safety remains our number one priority. Firefighting and residential traffic will continue in the area. Please drive with headlights on and reduce speeds. As a reminder, please remain fully engaged, vigilant and ready in case the fire activity increases.
