Today, firefighters on the Grouse Creek Fire (#485) and Lloyd Mountain Fire (#361) in the Tanana Zone will continue breaking down and backhauling equipment to Rampart for return to the fire cache in Fairbanks; firefighters on both fires will continue mopping up and monitoring fire activity. Yesterday, the Grouse Creek Fire (#485) saw minimal fire activity. Weather was favorable for air operations, so firefighters made a broad reconnaissance of the Grouse Creek Fire (#485) area.
- Lloyd Mountain Fire (#361) – 34,433.0 acres, 16 personnel, started on June 23
- Grouse Creek Fire (#485) – 52,000.00 acres, 87 personnel, started on July 10 [includes Twin Ponds (#486) and Garnet Creek Fire (#576), 9,043 acres, started July 15]
