The Salcha River Fire (#197) and Marshall Mountain Fires (#193) were first reported on June 18, 2025, and have since merged, now being managed as the Marshall Mountain Fire (#193). Fairbanks area forestry resources and Smokejumpers are on scene working to protect a structure within 1 mile of the fire. The fire is currently burning in black spruce, in a limited area, estimated at 300 acres and advancing toward the burn scar of the 2022 Yukon Creek Fire.
The Salcha cabins are located approximately 5.3 mile from the fire but not imminently threatened.
As fire activity increases across the Interior, resources are prioritized and shared amongst numerous emerging incidents.
