The Lush Fire (#199) remained active until about midnight, fire managers said Saturday. The fire is still north of the Yukon River across from Rampart. It is estimated at 645 acres.

A Type 3 Incident Management Team made up primarily of BLM Alaska Fire Service employees has assumed command of the fire.
Smokejumpers, the BLM AFS Midnight Sun Hotshots and the North Star Fire Crew worked Friday to protect structures and Alaska Native allotments on the north side of the Yukon River. They will continue this work Saturday, while also improving temporary helicopter landing areas to make it safer to move crews and equipment.
