
Fire behavior on the Nenana Ridge Complex has moderated over the last 24 hours with cooler temperatures, higher relative humidity and some cloud cover across the fire area. A type 3 incident management team from Georgia was inbriefed on Tuesday night and will assume command of the complex today. Additional resources have been ordered for the complex.
The Bonanza Creek Fire (#238) is currently estimated at 2,165 acres, and the Goldstream Creek Fire (#270) was estimated at 4,265 acres at last report. Several structures and a large construction site are at risk. Firefighters are focusing efforts to protect these areas in anticipation of the return of hot and dry conditions and an increase in fire activity by the weekend.
These fires have impacted roadways and rail lines in the area. Please travel with caution and watch for fire crews as smoke may impact visibility.
Fairbanks North Star Borough has issued evacuation alerts for the following areas:

- Parks Highway MP 330-MP 333
- Bonanza Creek Forest Area
🟡 Level 2 “SET”:
- Parks Highway MP 325-MP 330
- Parks Highway MP 333-MP 338
- Nenana Ridge Forestry Road
🟢 Level 1 “READY”:
- Old Nenana Highway
- Old Ridge
- Standard Creek Road
- Cache Creek Road
- Standard Cache
