Operations on the Sand Lake Fire (#292) yesterday continued to focus on point protection of structures and Native allotments. The Sand Lake Division Supervisor and overhead team conducted impact assessments and gathered additional documentation in the allotment area. Resources completed structure prep work around values at risk near Lake George before returning to the incident command post at the end of the shift.

There was no operational activity on the Twelvemile Lake Fire (#220), as efforts centered on coordinating the transport of personnel out of the Lake George area.

A reconnaissance and repeater mission was conducted via the local Type 3 helicopter. The repeater will increase communication coverage throughout the area.

The fire area received moderate moisture during the flight, with radar indicating continued precipitation into the evening. No new fire growth was observed.

Current acreage remains unchanged: Sand Lake at 4,893 acres and Twelvemile Lake at 18,744 acres. Recovery readings from the George Creek RAWS reached 90%–100% overnight and into this morning. Isolated thunderstorms are forecast to continue through tonight and into tomorrow. A total of 56 personnel are currently assigned to the two fires.
