Saint George Creek Fire. The Saint George Creek Fire has continued to grow. Fire growth to the west prompted an expansion of the Level 3 GO evacuation status into the area that had previously been Level 2 SET. Crews are prioritizing structure protection in the Gold King Creek area and other remote cabins that might be threatened.

Bear Creek Fire. The perimeter around the Bear Creek Fire held during the elevated fire weather yesterday. Variable wind direction helped burn interior pockets of vegetation and clean up the ragged fire edge on the southeast side. Initial attack crews are assisting in mop up and patrol along the west side of the Parks Highway corridor. They will be available to respond to any new starts that arise. Crews are gridding the slop on the east side of the highway—feeling for and extinguishing any remaining heat. The Golden Valley Electric Association completed their work in the utility corridor yesterday. GCI has begun work jigging out new fiber optic cable; restoring the line is expected to take a couple weeks.
