Twelvemile and Sand Lake Fires transferred back to local unit

Helicopter backhauls equipment from the Twelvemile and Sand Lake Fires 7/13/25

The Twelvemile Lake Fire (#220) sits at 23,628 acres.

The Sand Lake Fire (#292) totals 6,315 acres.

This will be the final update for these fires unless significant change occurs.

These Fires will be transferred back to the local unit effective 0800 Tuesday morning.

Minimal fire activity today on both fires. Crews made progress strengthening lines and cold trailing the allotments on the South end of Sand Lake. UAS flew the areas of concern (South flank of Sand) and is transferring data to divisions. Several sling loads of equipment were flown out of fire area. Some activity on the North flank, mostly backing fire in a couple isolated areas. Rain is expected this afternoon which will stall any additional fire growth. All three camps on these fires will be broken down and demobilized Monday afternoon.

Local fire management will continue to monitor fire activity and will take appropriate action if either fire poses a threat to values.
