Hard work from R10 crew continues on the Ninetyeight fire

The R10 fire crew continued working along the south and southwest edges of the Ninetyeight Fire (#218) to confine the fire north of the Salcha river. Recent precipitation over the area is keeping the fire at a creeping and smoldering pace.

Today, the crew will continue to work along the south and southwest edges to mop up and secure the hot spots along the fireline. Sprinklers continue to be used around areas that showed the most heat. Type 6 engine personnel will patrol and monitor the north end and continue monitoring east side to maintain situational awareness.
