Tlozhavun Fire (#448) – The Tlozhavun Fire (#448), burning approximately 10 miles south of Fort Yukon, remains at 21 acres and is now 70% contained. The fire is being managed under a full suppression strategy, with 35 personnel assigned, including smokejumpers, the Olympic National Park fire module, and the Council of Athabaskan Tribal Governments Type 2 crew. Fire activity remains moderate, primarily involving creeping and smoldering.

Crews have successfully completed 50-foot mop up operations around the perimeter and are now focused on extending mop up efforts to a depth of 100 feet. This work targets remaining hot spots and deeper-burning fuels to strengthen containment and prevent flare-ups.

Warmer and drier weather is expected to continue through the weekend, with a growing chance of showers and thunderstorms. Fire personnel remain vigilant and will adapt suppression strategies as conditions evolve to ensure containment goals are achieved safely and effectively.
