Crews achieved 100% containment around the perimeter of the Tlozhavun Fire Monday, meaning firefighters have established a control line around the fire that should keep it from spreading. Firefighters working other fires in the BLM Alaska Fire Service (BLM AFS) Upper Yukon Zone, which covers northeastern Alaska, continue to make steady progress towards the objectives identified for each fire. Fire managers will continue to watch for and be ready to respond to new starts as the region continues to experience dry conditions, particularly in the Yukon Flats.
Tlozhavun Fire (#448) – After completing containment of the 22-acre fire, firefighters, including the Olympic National Park Fire Module and the BLM Type 2 Council of Athabascan Tribal Governments (CATG) contract crew, will continue walking the interior of the fire looking for hotspots. They have not found any heat nor observed any smoke during their grid search, but will continue mop up until the fire is considered completely extinguished. Crews will also begin to pull hose if no heat is detected and remove water handling equipment in the evening so it can be reassigned to other fires.

Ptarmigan Complex – Thirty-eight fire personnel, under direction of a Type 4 management team, continue to execute firefighting and aviation needs on the Ptarmigan Complex fires.
- Crews successfully extinguished hotspots 300 feet from the north edge perimeter of the Turtle Fire (#243) on Monday and will continue securing the area during the operational shift on Tuesday. The fire is 16,337 acres in size and was reported on June 19. It is about 10 miles east of Central and 12 miles south of Circle.
- Firefighters monitored the eastern flank of the 18,615-acre Ikheenjik Fire (#242) by air on Monday. The Turtle Fire is directly adjacent to this fire, which was also reported June 19.
- Crews will remove equipment no longer needed on the Buckley Bar Fire (#264) Tuesday. Fire personnel continue to monitor it, along with the Birch Fire (#256) and Alligator Fire (#265).
Christian Fire (#255) – Incident personnel completed the final phase of their site protection mission Monday. The 46,847-acre fire, located approximately 50 miles north of Fort Yukon, will continue to be monitored.
