• Idaho Team 1 assumes command of the Twelvemile Lake and Sand Lake fires

  The Twelvemile Lake Fire is burning approximately 37 miles southeast of Delta Junction. Today, the Idaho Type 3 Incident Management Team assumed command of both the Twelvemile Lake Fire (#220) and the Sand Lake Fire (#292).

• IMT to take command of Roundabout Complex near Huslia, Hogatze

  The Northern New Mexico Incident Management Team is scheduled to take command of the Roundabout Complex tonight. Several of the positions on the incident management team have been filled by fire personnel from Alaska. The complex is made up of six lightning-caused wildfires near Huslia and Hogatze.

  The Ninetyeight Fire (#218), burning north of the Salcha River, has received sparse precipitation in the last 24 hours, and has not shown any growth in the past several days. There is not any significant smoke visible near the fire area as of today.

• Recent weather pattern helps to moderate Ptarmigan Complex fires

  Smith River Hotshots constructed three-quarters of a mile of indirect line Wednesday near Mile 148 to help protect Alaska Native allotments near the Birch Creek Bridge. That work will continue today. The Alaska Range Module will continue to assess, prioritize, and prep structures along the Steese Highway.
