3:57 p.m. – Due to extreme fire danger and the need to protect life and property, Fairbanks North Star Borough Mayor Luke Hopkins has issued a prohibition of all use or explosion of fireworks in the Fairbanks North Star Borough within areas outside the cities of Fairbanks and North Pole. This ban is in effect immediately, and will continue until further notice.
