
There is a new wildfire burning near Mile 30 Chena Hot Springs Road and smoke is visible from the community of Pleasant Valley and along Chena Hot Springs Road.
The Nugget Creek Fire (#323) is located a little over 2 miles south of Chena Hot Springs Road on the south side of the Chena River and east of the South Fork Chena River. As of 9 p.m. it was estimated at 150 acres and is burning in black spruce.
The fire is burning in a Limited protection area within the Chena River State Recreation Area with no resources threatened and no suppression action is being taken at this time.
