CENTRAL/EASTERN INTERIOR: Light winds from the west will continue to transport smoke to the east-northeast. The amount of smoke generated and impacts should be reduced today due to the rain.
SOUTHCENTRAL: The southerly winds seen Sunday will be replaced by northwest winds, sweeping smoke out of the Anchorage bowl and southern Mat-Su valley. The mornings may start to see smoke flow over the Alaskan Range and down the Susitna valley from the Foraker fire. The Kenai will be impacted again as the wind swings back to the northwest and the downwind valleys fill with smoke – especially near Cooper Landing, Seward, and along the Sterling Highway south of the fire.
