Heavy smoke impacts in Kenai peninsula, Yukon and Tanana
valleys including Fairbanks and southern Kenai areas.
Fire
CENTRAL/EASTERN INTERIOR: Heavy smoke impacts in upper
Yukon valley. Smoke from these and other fires to the north
will be brought into the Tanana valley over the next two days.
SOUTHCENTRAL: Similar winds as yesterday in Anchorage.
Southwest winds to start on Tuesday afternoon. The Kenai will
continue to see the downwind valleys filled with smoke –
especially near Cooper Landing. The Sterling Highway south
and east of the fire will continue to be a concern.
SOUTHEAST: Models indicate smoke could get pushed west of
town today.
SOUTHWEST: Smoke beginning to thicken in this area.
