The Alaska Interagency Coordination Center has activated the Alaska Interagency Wildland Fire Joint Information Center.
A joint information center (JIC) is activated when fire officials determine that the number and complexity of wildland fires burning across the state warrants an additional public information presence. It is staffed by fire information officers who gather, research, and disseminate information statewide, nationally and internationally to the public and the press.

The JIC is in the Bureau of Land Management Alaska Fire Service building on Fort Wainwright. It is staffed from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week. One fire information officer is on-call after 8 p.m. to accommodate emergency information needs. Staffing hours are subject to change based on fire activity.
To reach the Joint Information Center, call 907-356-5511. You can also visit akfireinfo.com for fire updates and information.
