Seldon Road Fire #520 initial attack update-

Fire #520 has been controlled at 0.1 acres.

At approximately 11:00 am this morning Division of Forestry and West Lakes Fire Department resources received a call for a roadside grass fire west of the intersection between Church and Seldon Road in Tanaina. The reported cause of the fire was fireworks, and luckily firefighters were able to respond quickly.

Please drive carefully while firefighters are still in the area.

Fireworks are prohibited in the Mat-Su Borough and please remember, there is an Emergency Burn Closure Order throughout much of Alaska, including the Mat-Su Borough. All burning outside of a steel ring or non flammable device is prohibited.
