Starting March 27, BLM Alaska Fire Service Smokejumpers will conduct training jumps in the skies above the Fairbanks and North Pole areas in preparation for the upcoming fire season. The required refresher and training jumps will occur throughout April and May.
The Division of Forestry & Fire Protection is offering basic firefighter training and red card refresher courses across the state. Registration is currently open for most classes and important registration deadlines can be found on the Forestry’s website. Spring is quickly approaching, and we ask that you share this page with people you know who are interested in protecting Alaska and all of the people from around the world who love the “Great Land”.
