Gold Hill Fire

Fire crews from the Division of Forestry, Alaska Fire Service and the Ester Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire near the Gold Hill liquor store reported at 1:30 Monday afternoon.

An air tanker dropped a load of water and a helicopter with a water bucket supported ground crews to contain the fire to 1.5 acres. No structures were damaged. The cause of the fire is human related and is under investigation.

A Red flag Warning remains in effect for the area until 10 p.m. Tuesday, May 13. Red Flag Warnings and Fire Weather Watches are displayed at Fire Warnings Information.
