100 Mile Creek Fire Update

Cooler and damper conditions allowed crews to continue making progress on the 100 Mile Creek Fire. Firefighters are working on line construction and secure slop overs. Air resources assisted in the efforts suppressing the fire from spreading north. The fire is currently still south of the winter trail. Ten smokejumpers are in the Richardson/Clearwater area to begin site protection.  The Alaska Type 1 team will be in command of the 100 Mile Creek Fire starting June 11, 2014 to meet the strategic objectives of limiting fire growth to the north and avoid affecting communities and infrastructure an increase in staffing levels.
