A public meeting to discuss the current status of the Ruby Area Fires will be held tonight Tuesday, July 21st at 7:00pm at the school in Ruby. Please note the location change.

With drier weather conditions on Monday, increased fire activity was observed, including some single-tree torching. Fire behavior is expected to increase over the next several days as warmer temperatures and drier conditions are expected over the fire area. Chances of thunderstorms and rain increase later in the week, as another low-pressure system moves through the area.

Bruno Creek Fire: All structure assessments and protection measures have been completed to structures located along the Poorman Road. Crews have almost completed constructing handline on the north flank of the fire to protect native allotments.

Big Creek Two Fire: Two squads continue to work in the Nowitna River drainage to set up sprinkler systems and complete structure protection on remote cabins on the east side of the fire. A few more operation shifts will be required to complete this work.

Trail Creek Fire: Continues to be in a patrol and monitor status.

There is a Notice to Airmen in effect for a 25-mile radius around the village of Ruby.
