Swan Lake Fire – Smoke likely to settle along highway overnight and early morning

Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Division of Air Quality has issued an Air Quality Advisory that includes the Kenai Peninsula due to wildfire smoke from the Swan Lake fire.

Generally, worse conditions occur overnight and during the early morning hours, as the atmosphere cools and brings smoke to the surface. During the day, surface heating will generally cause the smoke to lift, temporarily improving air quality.
