Jonesville Fire Declared Out Following Successful Mop-Up Operations

Palmer, AK – An engine crew and 9-person suppression module from DFFP’s Mat-Su Type 2 Fire Crew returned to the Jonesville Fire (#100) this morning to complete mop-up operations and finish cutting heavy interior fuels within the fire area. Crews conducted extensive gridding operations throughout the burn perimeter and interior to locate and extinguish any remaining heat sources. Following a thorough assessment, no heat was detected, and the fire was officially declared out at 1:50 p.m.

As of 4:30 p.m., all fire personnel have cleared the scene, and no resources remain assigned to the incident.

This will be the final update on the Jonesville Fire.
