DFFP is responding to the Bulchitna Fire in the Fish Lakes area of the Yentna River 

10:30PM Update – Bucket work was effective stopping the forward progress of the Bulchitna Fire (#205) now estimated to be 1.5-acres. Half of the Mat-Su T2 Crew, Alpha Squad, was shuttled to the fire to continue suppression efforts with helicopter support. The crew will work into the evening and spend the night on the fire. Bravo Squad remained in Talkeetna to receive a supply order for the fire and restock the engine and crew trucks to be initial attack ready. 

This will be the last update for the evening. 

8:30 PM Update – A passing pilot reported a fire in the area of Bulchitna Lake. Helitack responded from Palmer Area Forestry and discovered the Bulchitna Fire (#205) 8.5-miles east of Skwentna, estimated to be 0.5-acres with a 75% active perimeter burning in mixed hardwoods and spruce. Two structures were reported within a quarter mile of the fire. Helitack deployed its firefighters and started bucket work. An additional helicopter was requested to shuttle an engine crew and the Mat-Su Type 2 Crew from the Talkeetna airport to the fire.
