
7:30 PM – The Martha Fire is now 5 acres and contained. Thanks to the quick response of local engine and helicopter crews, firefighters have been able to stop forward progress, and the additional aircraft that were ordered have been cancelled. Multiple resources remain on scene to continue mop-up operations and strengthen containment lines.
6:30 PM – At 5:45 PM on Wednesday, the Martha Fire (#344) was reported near Pavilion Drive and Martha Cir., near Soldotna, AK. Engines and helitack on scene are actively protecting structures with airtankers en route to suppress the fire. Roughly one-two acres in size, it is burning in spruce and grass with winds coming out of the west.
There are currently no evacuations as of 5:45 PM in the area, but residents should remain alert.
DFFP, Central Emergency Services, and law enforcement are on scene.
Please avoid the area and give firefighters space to work.
